Yeah, I read that and I thought...wait...what? I know Modern turbines are very good at not exploding during an ingest event but it still wrecks the place up and frankly, Lipo batteries and as well as hard strong materials...especially fibrous materials with resins...like carbon fiber? um...these are bad things to feed jet engines.

Swings? They seem to have no trouble existing in both states simultaneously.

Not a problem at all. In fact, FOD ingestion leads to awesome flame spitting like you see here:

The odds of something happening being slim to nil doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

That was probably a bit harsh. Got turned off of Giz years back and have had a hard time finding reasons to give them another chance.

I don’t think that was harsh. I think that was accurate.

Man, I remember when I found out there was a car gizmodo...changed my life. I’ve been significantly less productive ever since.

Unmanned Aerial Balloons (UABs) are the real menace of the skies we should be fearing.

I buzzed a child’s balloon one day while doing my flight training. All of a sudden it was there. To misquote Jermey Clarkson, “A little poo may have come it.”
Two pounds of metal and plastic, be it a weather package or a RPA, will mess up some fan blades.
